Join us at Library Junction, a special part of the Nelsonville Parade of the Hills, hosted by the Nelsonville Public Library! This exciting gathering spot is a celebration of books, history, and family-friendly fun, offering something for all ages to enjoy.

Book lovers can browse library book sales throughout the festival week, discovering great reads at unbeatable prices. Children will be delighted by puppet shows (subject to change annually) and hands-on activities designed to spark creativity and imagination. History enthusiasts won’t want to miss our showcase presentations on the history of Nelsonville, providing fascinating insights into our community’s rich past. Plus, there’s even more to explore with interactive events, storytelling, and engaging programs happening throughout the festival!

Event Details: Stop by the library during the Parade of the Hills Festival to get your free caricature drawn by a professional artist! Preview the artist's work at https://kurtdreier.com.
Limit one drawing per person. Availability is based on time.

We love Puppets!
At the 2024 Nelsonville Parade of the Hills, Library Junction buzzed with excitement as children eagerly gathered to create their own puppets, bringing their imaginations to life with colorful fabrics, googly eyes, and playful designs. Laughter and chatter filled the air as little hands crafted unique characters, each with its own personality. Last year, the puppet-making activity was a huge hit, including a lively puppet show where Steven's Puppet proudly showcased their handmade puppets in a whimsical performance that delighted the audience. The festivities culminated in the bicycle parade, where the children, beaming with pride, attached their puppets to their handlebars or carried them high, adding an extra splash of creativity and fun to the vibrant procession.
Each year, Library Junction offers something unique for children to do, ensuring that every Parade of the Hills brings new and exciting opportunities for creativity and fun.

Book Sale
Who doesn’t love a book sale?
Come join us for the annual Book Sale at the Nelsonville Public Library!
Wednesday, August 13th–Friday, August 15th, 10 AM–5 PM each day, on the main floor of the library.
Local History
Visit the library to see a slideshow of historical Nelsonville photos put together by Local History librarian Lorinda Leclain. After viewing the slideshow, pick from free giveaways that showcase some of the photos seen in the slideshow. Below are some of the prizes available in the giveaway!
